Senior Director, Business Sales · Verizon · Denver

Cam Vogt

Montana raised. Mountain West proven. He runs a 100+ person sales team across six states, talks tough, doesn’t mean it, and delivers every single time.

01 · Where it started

Montana
made.

Nobody handed Cam anything. He came up the hard way, the way people there do: early, honest and all the way. He started in industrial sales in Billings, selling pumps and compressors to mines and refineries, and he never lost the habit of outworking the room.

He still makes the drive home to see the friends and family who knew him first.

Billings, where the career started

04:40 · Two-lane · Montana

Montana,
with an upgrade.

Grew up on two-lane roads. Now he drives a truck that can steer itself down the interstate, and he loves every piece of tech in it. The roots stayed. The tech caught up.

05:12 · Denver · Floor 1 of 1 lit

First
one in.

The lights on the floor are his before they are anyone else’s. Coffee, the numbers, a plan for the day, and then the team walks in.

02 · The numbers

Nineteen
straight.

Nineteen consecutive months of year-over-year growth. Ten straight record-breaking months. He set the bar for a year, then went out and lapped it.

Growth month Record month

Carries the biggest number in the room, every year. Doesn’t complain about it once.

03 · The territory

Six states.
One team.

Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana. Every light is somebody on his team: 100+ people who hit the number and have fun doing it.

04 · The floor

It sounds like
a boiler room.

Phones, bells, trash talk, somebody’s desk wrapped in sticky notes again. His teams crush the number and prank each other, in that order. Cam storms out and “yells.” Nobody is scared. They’d run through a wall for him, because he’d be the first one through it.

Drag them around. He’ll pretend to hate it.

05 · The deal

Bring him in
on the deal.

Cam loves the art of the negotiation: reading the room, knowing the number, walking the other side to yes. He’s the one you call when a deal matters. He’ll hold you to what you said you’d do, and he’s already holding himself to it first.

06 · The multiplier

Runs two
of himself.

Cam went all in on AI early. He uses it to multiply himself: what is moving market share, which initiatives are actually working, what his best reps do differently, who is buying what. Then he builds the plan and makes the AI try to break it.

It clears the inbox and runs the calendar too, which gives the hours back to his people.

  1. Which initiatives actually moved share this quarter? Rank them by lift.

Ranked by lift: 1. Multi-location bundle push 2. Renewal sprint 3. Partner referrals.

Recommendation: double down on #1 in the two metros where it is already working.

  2. What do my top reps do in week one of the month that everyone else doesn't?

Three habits stand out: first meetings booked by day three, same-day follow-up, pipeline reviewed with their manager every week.

Want a coaching plan built around those three?

  3. Profile the customers who bought in the last 90 days. Who do we call next?

Pattern: growing companies, multiple locations, recent expansion.

Lookalike list ready, sorted by fit and assigned by rep.

  4. Pressure-test next quarter's plan. Where does it break?

Two soft spots: rural coverage and a thin pipeline in the third month.

Three fixes below, ranked by effort.

  5. Clear my inbox. Draft replies in my voice and flag anything I should call about instead.

Drafts ready. Two flagged for a phone call.

07 · Work hard, home for dinner

Nobody
outworks him.

And nobody would think to ask him to try. But the games, the family dinners and the long drives back to Montana don’t get moved. Work hard, play hard, show up for both.

08 · The record

Twenty years.
One company.

Senior sales leader with 20+ years at Verizon and 15+ years leading sales teams. Leads a 100+ person business sales organization across six Mountain West states: 19 consecutive months of year-over-year growth, including 10 straight record-breaking months.
